This day was my best ever day of railway photography. I went to Ais Gill in the middle of the day and got one or two good shots. Then I got 3 different Jubilee hauled trains heading south from Carlisle, 2 at Cumwhinton and one at Brisco. Then when I got to Kingmoor to see what was allocated to the cars, I just could not believe my luck. In addition to this pair, a V2 was allocated to the 18.xx to Graiginches – a train which had been solidly diesel hauled for a few years. There was no question – it had to be Riccarton. So after arranging exhausts on both trains, off I went under clear blue skies. Even at Riccarton, the sun was shining and I just spent the time waiting enjoying the silent solitude.
